Intel Introduces 2nd Generation Xeon Series Processors to Accelerate Global Data Processing

Intel released a multi-series of technologies and products on the 24th, including Intel Business Director Zheng Zhicheng, which introduced the second generation of Xeon series processors, Optane persistent storage, solid state drives and Agilex FPGAs for computing, storage and networking. Ethernet technology will accelerate the movement, storage and processing of global data.

Zheng Zhicheng said that the second generation Xeon series processors have two advantages, one is that there is more ink on the AI. He pointed out that the new instruction set strengthens the calculation of neural network and deep learning; the second is to increase the image processing speed by 5.5 times. For example, in the heart computer tomogram, it can achieve the high performance of processing 201 images in 1 second. , greatly improve the accuracy of doctors' interpretation.

Zheng Zhicheng pointed out that the new processor has been adopted by two supercomputing center customers, and it is believed that its performance can reach the top five in the world. He said that the Platinum 9200 processor for the computing field has been adopted by a large customer of the German Supercomputing Center, and the storage field products have also been adopted by the Texas Supercomputing Center customers.

Zheng Zhicheng added that in the server equipped with the new processor, the SSD is assembled in Taiwan. It can be seen that Taiwan, as a major industry in the ICT industry, plays a pivotal role in the world and is another highlight of the processor.

Intel also enhanced on-site FPGA performance, business manager Lin Shiyuan pointed out that FPGA has "three 40", 40% increase in performance, 40% power consumption and 40 trillion floating point operations per second (TFLOPs) ability.
